October Lungs

I’m happy to report that I’m back in my yellow zone.( I’ll take it over red any day) Last week was a rough one for me…A full week of crappy breathing. Don’t really know what the trigger was, but my hunch is that it had something to do with the low humidity and strong off-shore winds we’ve been experiencing here in northern California. I think that combination stirs up stuff in the atmosphere which sets my lungs off . It’s typical October weather here , and it gets me every single time.
Looking back, I’ve been hospitalized on, or around Halloween almost every year for the past 20 years. This year, it was the last week in September that got me.

All I want to do now is breath well enough so I can get out there and start pounding the pavement and the trails again. I’m getting itchy to do a nice long walk along the SF water front and possibly the Marin headlands.
I have a lot new goals I’ve set for myself in 2007 including a PR half and sub 7 full. I can’t wait to get started working on them.
